A guide through Puglia

A guide through Puglia

Designer, model and brand owner Vanessa takes us through the hidden gems in the region of Puglia, Italy.

Curate your trip with the impeccable taste of Vanessa as she takes you through the treasures of the beautiful Puglia. From romantic spots to family-friendly plans, Puglia hosted the most beautiful spring for Vanessa and her family.

Vanessa’s walk-through her favourite spots:

The trip began in beautiful Lecce. This picturesque small town known as the “Florence of the South”, she says, is worth visiting. “Getting lost in the labyrinthine streets, finding elegant churches and palaces in the way.. it’s all worth it. I wore the satin pants for my first day, the coastal bikini top for the second day and topped both outfits out with my black Surmer sunnies!”
Following, the beautiful seaside town of Polignano a Mare: “To overlook the Mediterranean from the cliffs in Poligniano a Mare should be a must in this life. Breathtaking scenery and the most beautiful historic center, definitely a destination not to miss when travelling through the region of Puglia. Here we shot our SURMER shoots, making the most out of the authentic mediterranean charms of our sorroundings.”
Next up was Alberobello, one of the most particular looking areas of all. “Alberobello – a region of texture and treasure. Architecturally unique, the iconic ‘trulli’ houses are characterized by these cone-shaped roofs. The effect? You’ll feel like you’re in a fairytale your whole stay. And what is more: the peace and quiet of springtime in this town is unmatched. Don’t tell too many people! Topped off the textured city with the Surmer knit set – coming soon!”
Matera was the next stop – a day’s worth of getting lost in a beautiful small town and experiencing the slow italian life.
To top things off, one last stop in beautiful Rome! “Everybody knows: When in Rome… When in Rome!, I pick to be as far from the most touristic areas as possible! You can walk around during the day but staying in some more hidden areas is ideal if you ask me. Rome is your mouthful of culture, art, history and …pasta. A must for any and everyone travelling through Italy. Some coming-soon Surmer releases dressed me in this city, so spot the spoilers in the pictures!”

On your way to the airport: ROMA

The absolute highlight of this trip was Roma for V. “You should not miss it for the world! Even if you’re going with beach on your mind, take a few days to understand this amazing city on your way to the airport”. She and her family enjoyed time visiting the historic places and recommended the Vatican Museum & St. Peter’s Cathedral.

When in Rome.. Go shopping!

Piazza di Spagna is your favorite shopping district. Such a beautiful place to walk around and so many interesting options for shopping.
